Zeina Ammar, Anti-Racism Movement, Libanon
Johanna Kistner, Sophiatown Psychological Community Services, Südafrika
Newroz Duman, Initiative 19. Februar, Deutschland

Invitation
December 5
th 2020 | Digital podium in the context of the 8th annual conference of the Society for Psychoanalytic Social Psychology with 3 medico-partners
The hierarchization of lives and the challenge of solidarity – how does the Corona crisis affect psychosocial dynamics and psychosocial work in Johannesburg, Beirut and Hanau?

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
dear Friends,
together with
AG Postkoloniale Perspektiven und psychoanalytische Sozialpsychologie we are pleased to invite you to our digital podium in the context of the 8th annual conference "The discomfort in nature. Psychoanalytic Perspectives on the Corona Crisis" of the Society for Psychoanalytic Social Psychology (in German: Gesellschaft für psychoanalytische Sozialpsychologie, GfpS) on Saturday, December 5th 2020 at 01:45pm - 04:00pm (CET).
The consequences of the Corona pandemic do not only depend on the virus as well as health and medical issues, but also on the societies affected. The Corona crisis is always also a social and psychological crisis with local, regional and global dynamics. In our workshop we want to discuss with activists and psychosocial experts from South Africa, Lebanon and Germany how the corona crisis is affecting social dynamics and psychosocial wellbeing from the perspective of marginalized and othered subjects. We will ask about the radical changes the crisis has brought and still brings about, as well as its local and global causes and dynamics. We are interested in the impact of the unequal treatment of life locally and globally, the social consequences of contact restrictions/lockdowns and the effect the increasingly pervasive digitalization has for individuals and the relationships in communities. Special emphasis will be on how organisations and approaches which focus on the power of groups and solidarity are dealing with the impact and dynamic of lockdowns and “social distancing”. We would like to discuss and share creative and radical responses to this rapidly changing context which is affecting us globally.
